Rubycon caps replacement in CD

Hi. I am servicing JVC CD player fully equipped with Rubycon caps CE W type blue and gray bipolar

As they are ca 30 years old minimum I am going to replace them by current good quality reasonable caps.

CD was faulty (missing oscillator due to corrosive action of glue - fully demolished connectors). New one installed and machine is fully working.

As example main cap on PSU 3300/16V is today 2700 - OK still in range of 20% tolerance but fully at low edge.

So my idea is to use Panasonic or Nichicon line (maybe Nippon) depending on local availability.

What series should I use just one type as majority of caps mentioned Rubycons

I am sure others will chime in. I usually go with Panasonic / Nichicon from reputable sources (Digikey, Element14, etc).

I was asking more for exact types (like VZ(M) or whatever else. Panasonic and Nichicons are also my favorites

VZ is polarized. You can't replace bi-polar caps with polarized ones, or at least I wouldn't recommend it. It could be a recipe for disaster. This limits your choices to about 5% of electrolytics, but is also where the best performing e'lytics are (for audio-use/ less distortion under load). If you're looking for a good bi-polar replacement (across all the good brands) my first recommendation is Nichicon UES Muse. UDB, RBD are very good options as well. Cornell BPS is another new-ish good one I've found and started using as well and even has competitively rated ESR! which is unheard of in a bi-polar audio rated e'lytic cap. While I haven't used them, the Panasonic SU is available in both polar and bi-polar options and is/was popular like VZ is in OEM equipment. If you are looking at local availability, you would be extremely limited in finding these. I recommend purchasing from an online distributor from Digikey or Mouser (if you live in the US).

All correct. I only gave VZ as an example for what I was looking for. Not for comp. name but more precise recommendation.

Non polar BiPolar Nichicons green ES Muse I know that was easy. More difficult choice for polarized ones. But If general purpose Rubycons survived so long I guess general purpose UKT, UKW Nichicons will last minimum the same -they are listed for audio apps so lets try.

Forget about US suppliers I am EU Poland.

UES is a great bi-polar cap and can be used to replace polar/bi-polars alike and is pretty much always an upgrade every time, unless the circuit requires lower ESR to function at its best which I can't say I've ever run into as being any sort of audible issue, ever. I'm pretty much only using UES (or other bi-polars) for as much as possible, all the time. They only go up to a certain capacitance and then you have to switch over to polarized whether you like it or not. Of course, the bi-polars are always physically larger than regular polarized types, so fitment is sometimes an issue. Otherwise, for polar types; UFW, UKZ, RFS, UKA are my recommendations. UKZ is probably the best of all these, as it's also 'Muse', audio-rated like the others, but also low leakage which is very hard for an audio-rated e'lytic to obtain, just like low ESR is.
