Sansui 1000x Clean Up

Hi all,

I'm pretty green when it comes to fixing audio equipment, but I'm trying to restore an old 1000x to it's former glory. Right now, the highs and lows on all inputs are fairly distorted in both channels. I put a signal through the "Main In" connection and am still getting this distortion, so I'm fairly certain that the Pre-Out is working well.

I've already recapped and replaced the 2sc458 transistors on the Driver Amp Block (F-1180A), as well as changed the two 2200 uF 50 V coupling caps.

My next guess is that the 2SC1111 NPN power transistors (TR051-TR054 on the schematic) are the next thing that need to be changed. I also plan on replacing a transistor that looks like it might be leaky on the power transistor board (there's some brown gunk thats covering the side of it).

I guess I'm just curious if bad power transistors are the cause of the distortion, or if there is possibly something else I should be looking at?
