Sansui 210: buzz in audio output at work, but not at home

I have a Sansui 210 that I purchased to use at the office. There's a buzz in the headphone output when I plug it in at work, but not at home.

I have an EE friend who likes to mess with stereos. He wasn't able to reproduce the buzz at his home, either. He opened it up and couldn't see anything wrong, save for a few burnt out bulbs for the front panel which he graciously replaced.

I assume that the problem has to do with the power outlets at work. Does anyone have any knowledge on how/if I can neutralize this problem at work? I even tried hooking the Sansui up to one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009GI7NC but it didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I haven't been able to test the speaker outputs at all, as I currently don't own any speakers.

It's probably a combination of all the computers running at your office, all the lights, all the appliances, and all the associated equipment (printers, etc.). That is just not a good environment for audio equipment that is prone to picking up electrical interference. If that Furman power conditioner didn't help, your options are probably few.

You mean the wall outlet? I'm afraid I can't do that, but for what it's worth I've tried it in a few different outlets at the office. Same results, sadly.
 
sKiZo just advised me to slap a ferrite suppressor clip on my computer power cord to deal with the noise I'm getting from it through my power amp. A Furman conditioner (M8x2) didn't work for me either, so I know what you're feeling for sure. Maybe you could go around the office and slap ferrites on all the power cords you see...Nobody will notice. ;)

Hey, thanks. I was afraid that might be the case, but I figured there wasn't any harm in asking. :)
 
Solved! So it turns out that every place I tried at the office wasn't too far away from office phones that happened to have wireless headset accessories. Even with the wireless headset off and on it's dock, it/it's dock was generating some kind of interference.

If anyone runs into something similar, note that just disconnecting the headset dock's AC adaptor wasn't enough in my case. I also had to disconnect the wire running between the dock and the desk phone.

Can anyone tell me if the Sansui 210 Receiver has a built in Preamp for running a turntable through the unit?
