I am sorry if this is addressed elsewhere, I searched several different ways and never found anything. I received a very clean and nice Sansui 7900Z yesterday, but they “stereo” red LED indicator does not light up. And I used a couple extra LEDs I have around and held their leads on the solder on the back of the LED and the new ones I know are good didn’t light up either. It’s not gonna kill me, I don’t listen to the radio a lot mainly LPs and CDs and once I settle on a DAC I’ll stream and use some HDD files. Thanks in advance for any help! BTW, I have two of these and both initially the volume didn’t light up. I briefly set a bottle of Buffalo Trace on the first unit and the light came on! This unit the bottle was too empty and it didn’t work. But a couple light taps on the housing and voila, volume light magic. Issue number 2 (if I need to start a second thread please let me know) this one seems to go from zero volume to 11. But the power meters and graphic display barely budge. The other sounds great but the lights are way more sensitive and the volume, which I can barely let a second bar appear after 8pm, is less hyperactive than this newer, MUCH cleaner unit. I used a little Deoxit on the volume pot so hopefully when I get it back together it will be better. Thanks guys! Stay safe.
