Sansui 800 Phono left channel issue

Hello everyone

Bought the receiver three weeks ago and everything was working ok. I sprayed it with deoxit and faderlube following a useful idiots guide here in ak, and everything was good until tonight when the left channel had a noticeable hum and lower sound than the right channel when I was playing my turntable. I exchanged the rca cables of the tt to red going to left and white going to right, and the bad channel went to the other side, right channel now. I sprayed the phono inputs and mode selectors, and still the problem persists. I only know the problem it is in the receiver, since speakers and turntable were working fine before. I also know it is only in the phono section since fm/am and aux sound perfect in both speakers. What should I do here? I can desolder/solder components, but don't have much experience in electronics. I can learn, but would this be a difficult issue? Let me know your wisdom! Thank you and have a good day!

If the bad channel changed with moving the RCA's, then the TT is the problem. Or the RCA's.

Sorry for my ignorance, didn't know that. In the case is the tt, is it fixable? The RCA's are attached to the tt so I doubt I can replace them. Thanks

The TT should be able to be repaired. It could be the cartridge or cartridge wires as well. The RCA's could be replaced on the TT. It would have to be opened up and new ones soldered in place.

Thanks for the info. I just checked the cartridge and one of the connections was loose. Put it back in and problem solved! Thank you for the help!
