Hi all new to this so go easy on me please. Just bought a 9090. Having a few issues with it and was advised to search for A guy called Hyperion on this site. How would I go about this please?

Hi Pete thanks for that. I live in the UK on the North Coast of Scotland. Bought a 9090 last week which was working fine. I drove 8 hours to pick it up, stayed overnight leaving the 9090 in the car, and drove back the next day. When I connected it up there was no left channel and the VU light was out and the volume seemed low. Tried both speakers in various configurations and they only worked on right channel. Was playing CD through Aux input and slowly turned selector switch to AM position when volume suddenly increased. CD continued to play at all selector switch positions. Carried out deoxit of all switches no change. Downloaded service manual and noticed that fuse F08 controlled left channel and VU meter. Changed fuse with no change. Was on Facebook chat group and some American guy suggested I contact @Hyperion on this group for advice. Upshot is am going to have to send it somewhere to be fixed and might as well get it fully restored in the process. The unit had been sitting unused in a bedroom for 40yrs. So I am looking for recommendations of who can do this work in the UK. Would post the unit to wherever but pick up in person on completion. I travel to Portsmouth and Plymouth occasionally through my work. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mick, I can probably fix the problem you describe on your 9090 and restore it, with one caveat, I have no equipment to re-align the tuner - which really should be done as part of a 'proper' full restore on one of those, so you may want to seek out someone who can also re-align the tuner.

However if that is not important to you, we can discuss further, but these discussions must be done via the personal message, or 'PM' system which on this site is called a 'Conversation' - I'll send you a 'conversation message' so we can discuss further.
