I explain here...

This is Tool from Conrad Hoffman free arc template generator to generate same arc protractor what you see on ebay.
All information what you can to add in this tool is..

Spindle to Pivot distancedistance: 224.4 mm
Inner groove Radius: 60.951 mm
Outer groove Radius: 118.86 mm

And print as Lofgren A.

Or maybe you can pick better performance if you put these values...

Spindle to Pivot distancedistance: 224.4 mm
Inner groove Radius: 60.325 mm
Outer groove Radius: 146.05 mm
And print as Lofgren A.

With this values you have lower distorsion on all grooves (Maximum and Average distorsion).

First case from ebay protractor...
Maximum Tracking error: 2.05
Effective length (mm): 240
offset angle °: 22
Inner null point (mm): 60.951
Outer null point (mm): 118.86
Maximum distortion %: 0.744
Average rms distortion %: 0.484

Second case from standard Baerwald (Lofgren A) protractor...
Maximum Tracking error: 1.78
Effective length (mm): 241.524
Offset angle
°: 22.761
Inner null point (mm): 65.998
Outer null point (mm): 120.891
Maximum distortion %: 0.612
Average rms distortion %: 0.399

I use the following alignment tool on my SR-929 and on my Thorens tables..... it works fine... you can compare it to any other (I don't remember if it is Stevenson or Baerwald ? if those are the correct terms, but it's one of them).

This is Baerwald protractor with 2.60 inch (66.04 mm) inner null point and 4.76 inch (120.904 mm) outer null point. ;)

Thanks FileFixer.... I had checked that years back and forgot which one it was.... The good thing is... I think it works fine... what's your opinion on it ??

It works fine without any problem and I think that have best result over all other alignment method. When I gone to research alignment methods I did try all of them and my conclusion is that Baerwald, also known as Lofgren A alignment method, is overall the best. I dont agree with Stevenson alignment at most because Stevenson method is the best only on last 4mm on grooves but, what if grooves on record side is shorter then maximum grooves can be?! Then Stevenson will newer touch this null point and stylii newer have zero distorsion on two place all over the grooves. Stevenson alignment method touch that inner null point always on the end of grooves and we never have zero distorsion on inner groves because when touch this null point, track and record is end to play.
Lofgren B is best in the middle but on outer and inner groves is not and it is very closer to maximum tracking error and maximum distorsion.

Hello my name is Paul and I would like to know if someone can help me create a protractor for a Lofgren A calibration for the sansui sr929
