Ok, some guy on C/L selling a Sansui G-7700 in "Nice Condition for its age". I haven't seen it but he wants $179.00. I saw one go on EBay for $300+ yesterday. So the question is, worth it or not?

Thanks

Yes, good amps, I still have mine, but to be honest I think you could consider shooting higher, t0 a G8700 or 9700....the build quality is better......
then theres the back face versions which I think look very cool....
That said, nothing wrong with a G7700.
Nice big punchy crystal clear sound..:thmbsp: Bucket-loads of power...
I would go for the earlier one with the TO-3P outputs rather than the later ones which have the slightly more difficult to find MT-200 output transistors...
Its easy to tell, the early ones have a "cast alloy" heat sink and the later versions heatsink is an alloy extrusion....
Also make sure the digital display in the tuner is working properly, IE; has all the segments going, and the tuner gets "quartz lock"......the digital chips in these which have a tendency to fail, are getting very difficult to find now....

Also, just a friendly reminder, pricing is to be discussed in dollars and sense....:thmbsp:

If you haven't gotten it yet, make sure that you give it a good listen first. You may have to take headphones or a small set of speakers, and maybe an MP3 player with a patchcord.

Good luck! I want one, or a G-8700.
