Sansui Schematic Question

Can someone tell me what the letters, sometimes numbers after a transistor part number are for?
Example 2SC711 (E, F, G). 2SC1124 (1,2) Thank you!

As previously posted these indicate the range of the gains (hfe) of the part. Same part number different gain Look at a datasheet.

I did look at a data sheet for the 2SC1619A .The Sansui schematic shows 2SC1619A (R,O,Y).
I'm trying to understand what the (R,O,Y) means. Other transistors on the schematic have similar numbers and letters in parentheses after the part number. Thanks.

Thank you for the clarification! Interesting that the OEM would allow such a wide range of hfe to be used.
It just means that in this case the design is 'forgiving' enough for this not to be critical, providing the device is within the letter parameters given.
