sansui sp x8900 tweeter question

i just got my sp x8900 hooked up to my G7500, about the super tweeters, i cant hear anything come out of these tweeters, does that mean their broken or are they only used for certain high volume? :scratch2:

It is very difficult to assess the output of those super tweeters. I know that I thought mine (in my SP-X6900's) were toast (my hearing is poor above 13 KHz) so I metered them and they measured fine (resistance-wise).

Then, to confirm actual operation, I used my SPL meter stuck right smack 'in the face' of those tweeters and - dang - they were working! :thmbsp:

Yep, it all depends on how good your ears are... Or how old! If you're a good deal younger than me, you can probably tell by listening, but if you're much over 40, I doubt that most of their output is audible to you. I'd do as Paul suggested and stick a SPL meter right out in front of them, might just surprise you.
