Sansui vs McIntosh

Yahama has a line of new integrated amps modeled after their 70s units of the CA-1000 era. For example, the Yahama A-S2000, which I've seen going 2nd hand at the upper end of the proposed budget. But still, I would rather have a vintage unit personally (but I don't mind fixing stuff).

Some good points above from Captouch about Sony, Sherwood and Kenwood units of the 70s sometimes being good sounding units that are undervalued. Sansui still rules the roost at my place, but am very excited about having found units I like from other brands lately, like Sony.

While I think this topic is posted in the Sansui forum and asking for a comparison, decisions have been made already by the OP and comments will be slanted in favor of a Sansui unit.

I know this though, a lot of prevues Sansui owners that want better sound and build quality end up owning Mac gear.

I still have both but like the mac stuff better but it doesn't stop me from slipping in some Suie speakers and hitting them with mac power . The Op did end up asking the same question in the mac forum as well. At their budget they would do better with a AU-717 and TU-717 I would think.
