Those Dahlquists should sound decent if refoamed. Rather than use one of my generic surrounds, I bought some from an eBay seller which claimed they would fit my DQM-9's 10" woofers, and they fit perfectly. And despite needing a bit of cabinet TLC (which I may get around to, if I decide to keep 'em), they sounded better than I remember them. Mine has the walnut veneer--I guess the Nextel finish was a "thing" for a while, and yeah, it can be a real bugger to strip down and redo.
BTW, I've read in a couple of places on the 'net that it's the DH-101 that is more preferred than the 110. I own both, and prefer the cleaner, more detailed sound of the 101 over the stuffy sounding 110 (which is also a lot more problematic--the pots and switches need a De-Oxit cleaning every few months, whereas I've never had to do the pots on the 101 in the almost 35 years I've owned it). It's all subjective though--the 110 has its fans. I'd probably like mine a bit more if it weren't so finicky. Seems like they cheaped out on the pots and switches.

That's funny, the same is said for those funky selection switches on the 101. That being said, mine has no issues and performs as the internet says it should. I've never tried the 110, so I have no idea.

I think I have a 1019 in my shop. Clean as a whistle, even has the original plastic top. Do you want it?

Hmmm....I just might. My trash picked one needing a rebuild is currently sitting top shelf in my yet unfinished laundry room turned audio storage/work bench/ everything else. Ha, the mrs. was like so what's going on here? Not implying that the laundry or kitchen for that matter are "female areas" just it seemed I promised the shelves to her. Sorry the carpenter claims eminent domain.
So yeah let's talk. One working one and 3 projects.

Whoa, it's bed time and yet to eat dinner....
I guess I just spent 2 hours cleaning this thing.
Defunked and looking good. I admit to stealing the shop vac sucking through small diameter hose method of cleaning. Works well, little krud kutter, flux brush and suction. Followed up with clean rinse. Now time for a rebuild.

I guess you'll have to take my word for it. Didn't take any close ups of the once yellow receiver. I don't know if I even want to touch the cover. It's like a flytrap. Really like to make a wood case for it. The black face will juxtapose well with the right wood.
As I was doing that I also starting in on my half assed dummy load. Knock more projects off the list and take my work space out of play space mode. Work space pays for play space, gotta keep that in my head!
