Seaburg Dynamic Sound speakers?

Wow...... got a bee under your bonnet or what ?

I was just commenting about the similarity to the Legato. ( Altec horn, driver, and a pair of 15" woofers)

No reason to launch into a rant.
No bee, i promise. Just the truth.

They are a poor sounding, poor performing speaker system in their original/stock form.

If you had the opportunity to hear them side by side(DDS1 and Legato), you would immediately understand.

Legato is and was born as a "hifif" speaker.

The DDS1 is an extension speaker for jukeboxes with limited power output, and very rolled off frequency response at both ends. It was not designed or intended to be a "hifi" speaker, and it surely is not.

The DDS1 is built like a brick shithouse with a steel grill and formica laminate to endure the rigors of permanent installation in a(wet) public place. Physically, they will probably survive the apocalypse where 99% of other speakers will crumble.

The DWS2 is a smoother sounding, better balanced overall speaker system at the cost of some bass extension.

Ha, the horns and drivers are likely worth around $500 if untouched.... which they usually are. I'd say 2 1/2 times your money....isn't all that bad. Maybe he even comes down on price?:rflmao:

And it goes well beyond the component value and sound quality too.

Juke extension speakers have really climbed in value over the last ~10 years. If you have the juke these were optional with you likely will pay to get them.
