Sealed vinyl with cut out marks?

Just picked up a sealed copy of Beach Boys - Love You from GW for $2. Not a huge Beach Boys fan save most of Pet Sounds.

It has a saw mark on the bottom of the cover, and after some searching online I see quite a few with this mark. Any idea what that could mean?

Interesting album so far BTW.

They do this to CD's also. What will they do for downloads??

BTW .. years ago these were in retail record shop cut-out bins for around the same price you paid at GW.
