SEARS Stereo system M#304.91945 This thing actually sound pretty good.

Anybody have any experience or info one this thing? I know its not a great table but I picked it up for 5 bucks so i could have a system in my office. Fixed the idle, put the belt back on the casette deck, cleaned the 8 track head, and well cleaned everything lol and its running great. only issue im having is i had to take the gear out under the platter that works the Auto play or whatever youd call it so i could play it in manual otherwise the arm would just kinda keep resetting. I'm really wanting to get that working because with all the fancy bells and whistles my expensive AudioTechnica has it doesnt have auto play. Im pretty mechanically inclined but just cant figure out whats not meshing by watching it, but i also havent been able to find any diagrams or anything to help guide were i should be looking, just kinda watching and following as it operates
P.S. im not running any of my "nice" collection on here, just albums i have that have seen better days.

Look up videos on how to restore BSR record changers. Usually a thorough cleaning and re-greasing is all you need to get them working smoothly again.

Also make sure the stacking spindle is facing in the correct direction. Otherwise it'll do weird things like try to drop the record on top of the tonearm!
 
Humans are actually pretty tolerant of audio imperfections. Nature and our fellow humans aren't alway dulcet, and don't always sound exactly similar. Yet we need to hear what is going on, and identify sounds, even if they are slightly different from how we heard them first. Of course, every environment affect the sound of anything making noise in it, and that is an imporatnt part our ability to be aware of the sabre tooth tiger, or to recognize our beloved's voice outdoors rather than in the cave.
So while your Sears system may not sound as good as your regular system (we hope), you can understand and enjoy the sounds it makes.
BSRs are not that hard to fix, and are very reliable, even if slightly agricultural.
