Interesting reading, and I may have missed it, but...

Caps in the audio path I get, but what about the filter caps?

Are low Impedance better? say Nichicon PM series? or would it be better to stay with "Audio grade" like Nichicon KZ, KW, or Elna Silmic II's?

Any of those you mention should be fine (if you can find the uF you need for a SS amp). Regarding impedance and performance, that depends on the type of circuit/PSU. Generally you want to look for a filter capacitor with lowest ESR. For power supply filtering it gets down to using the BEST capacitor you can afford. In a high power SS amp, this can get very pricey.
