Now if I could just find the song "I am the Walrus" split up like this I could finally figure out the Lyrics to it. :scratch2:

I have to caution students (I do music clinics, among other things) about playing onstage with mics.

At church the music director never seems to have faith in me turning on his mic so EVERY TIME he walks up to a mic he has to whack it to make sure it's working. Drives me nuts. Of course I've only been going to this church for 4 years so maybe he's just getting used to me.

We also have a slew of people who won't grab a vocal mic when they sing. They walk up to the podium. I've tried to explain that it sounds bad, overloads easily, and they keep fiddling with positioning which is easily audible but I'm not making an impression. Except for one woman who has a powerful voice and always overloads the mic. I told her that if she sings at the podium I won't turn it on. She's been good lately. :thmbsp:

Only thing I have to add to that is the church chuckleheads that insist on blowing into microphones as if they're aiming at candles on their 80th birthday cake.

:grumpy:

Then, they do it again!

What a MAJOR a-hole!

I would tell him in a powerful and commanding 'voice of God' style "HE ASKED YOU TO STOP HITTING THE MIC!" over the PA just before he hits it. That might just embarrass him enough to actually stop doing it anymore.

:)

Or, turn it off after he hits it, and tell everyone he broke the mic after you told him a million times to stop hitting it, so he should pay the church for a new one.

Seriously?
I made it a point to learn them after John Lennon died.
I can't recite them from memory, but I can tell what they are now when I listen to it.
I remember writing o-e-a in the dust in the tractor cab to remember the Ho Ho Ho He He He Ha Ha Ha part!
(Expert texpert choking smokers don't you think the joker laughs at you)

crap.... now I am watching all the "Making of Sgt. Pepper's" videos on YT.
and I really want to go listen to the hifi...

The Making of Sgt. Pepper six part documentary is a really nice way to wile away a little over an hour. Dating from 1992, you get to hear the (then) three remaining Beatles tell the story in their own words. The Producer guy is great. I got chills when they played the early demo of "A Day In The Life". The talent and creativity coming from that bunch, and what they produced with limited (tech) resources is nothing short of amazing. If you're a Beatles fan, you gotta see it. Highly recommended.

No, I was just kidding. At one time I had a review of the Pioneer RT-909 when it first came out. The review stated that if the Beatles had an RT-909 when they recorded I am the Walrus, we would have been able to understand the words. :D

The review and subsequent advertising was affective though, as I bought an RT-909 in 1980 with some of my student loan money. :D

Pulled off u-tube by the F-ing RIAA!

How else can I see this?

Thanks!
PM me. I happened to pull the Flash video off YouTube with Download Helper (a handy Firefox plug-in) but need to find time to convert it to a more standard AVI format.
