We deserve the prices on the A25 for slurping it for decades. A speaker that sold new for 79 bucks at the high end and available for half that during the best sales selling for 100 or more (this is each) and folks loving em for that price is what causes folks to want em bad. We know what we know, the old speakers rock, gotta get a pair. Fine but I have found better newer for the same kind of money, size and such. But we do that with lots of different gear. Slurping on AK boosts the price. Been doing it for years.

Eh...I don't think AK members have been grabbing them up any more than any other well known vintage speakers. I don't know what the market is like in Kansas City, but they'd never sell at that price in NY.

Only that the A25 sold so many more than almost every other vintage speaker so it would be the most popular on the used market for the simple reason that there are more of them out there.

Sheesh. I bought my 25s for $200 and thought that was on the high end - but they had been sitting under a blanket for 20+ years since being bought from the original owner.

Wouldn’t mind hearing how the 50s stack up though. Lovely speaker, the 25s. I enjoy my daily slurp.

Dynaco’s are very rare in KC but the market for hi-if gear is weak.

yes, pretty easily more than those. CR did a review and it was number 1. Guys rolled into the audio stores with the magazine in their back pocket and rolled out with a pair of the half million of those speakers sold over the years and years it was available.

According to Wikipedia, there were between 600,000 and 1,000,000 A25s sold. I know there were a helluva lot of KLH model Sixes and Advents, but I doubt they approached the A25s numbers. I don't have numbers to back that up though.

I sort of consider a PAS 3, an ST70 , and a pair of A25s as required reading in the audio world.
Admittedly not the best , but excellent in general and can hold their own . The A25 probably the weakest link of the 3. YMMV
