Should I Use A Car Subwoofer In My Home Theater?

So I had thought if I use a NVX vcw 152 in my home theater and wire it to 4 ohms and use my Crown power amp in bridged mode that can do 1550 @ 4 ohms and has a built in crossover would it be a good choice to upgrade with? I mostly listen to music and have the bass turned up loud. I am currently using my 12" 300 watt rms home theater subwoofer since I don't have the money to go upgrade it with a subwoofer that can do the same amount of power without spending $$$ to get one instead since I have had this subwoofer and it's 4 cu ft box tuned @ 32hz would any of you think it would be advisable to do it or just forget it? Since it was used in my car for 2 years or so and then I upgraded to more power and this has been sitting for the last 5 months now.

the biggest issue i've had using car subs is the 4ohm load, many amps dont play well at 4ohm bridged.

Aside from that there's no reason you can't use a car sub at home. I'm guessing the box may want changing if it's just ported, but the driver will work just fine. I've a 12" 4ohm car sub in a huge 40hz box. very efficient, huge bass, lacking in fidelity... Car subs generally aren't as finessed as a nice home sub; cars want boom, not fidelity.

Hook it up and try, might sound good, might sound bad. Not much to lose. But at 1550wpc you'll have the ability to fry most drivers... be cautious with the gain.

Usually 4 ohms bridged isn't a problem for pro amps. Many, perhaps even most, are rated down to 2 ohms per so channel they will work fine 4 ohms bridged.
 
That tuning frequency is too high for HT. This will likely result in a peaky in room response that will be difficult to tame even with equalization.
 
Where did the box come from?
I assumed from your first post it was made for this driver.
Can't find a maximum recommended box size anywhere.

well i found a box that is tuned @ 30hz and is 3 cu ft which sounds good to me after trying to find a box tuned at that hz and size for many hours found one.
