Reviving this thread with my latest acquisition. Spinning Brothers in Arms, pure bliss :music::music:

Even has Pickering headshell wires for that extra touch of authenticity

Well, since I've got a new deck and a cartridge:

I felt so fortunate to have got the original anti-skating weight. A lot of secondhand decks often miss this little piece which can be a bummer.

Yamaha MC-21. Apparently a HOMC. I saw someone said it's not a v good cart but the marriage between this cartridge and my GT-750 (which is incestuous!) is like a good glass of Shiraz and lamb cutlet!

Man this is a great thread. Lots of stuff I'll never ever own. So, to represent the cheap end of the spectrum.....

LOL if I ever run into that ale I sure will!

That's one beautiful, somewhat cyber-punk like cart. What does it sound like?

It sounds excellent though it needs a very high gain stage or SUT as its output is so low at 0.12mV. The Soundsmith retipped FR MC 201 on an Ittok sounds even better to my ears, comparable to the Ortofon MC3000 mk2 on the same arm.

0.12mV, that's one genuine L.O.M.C.! :thmbsp:

Audio Technica AT 37E cartridge (the little brother of the legendary AT1000) - It has a frequency response of 10-50000 Hz and an output of 0.1mV only.

Geeez, what vinyl records are capable of 10-50000 Hz? That's an impressive spec. And that's only a 'little brother'??
