This is my latest build and one that sounds incredible.This is a pair of the Audio Nirvana Super 15" cast frame full range speakers in the 5.6 cabinets that i built.I used 3/4" birch ply and cherry laminate that gives them a great look.The dimensions of these are 18 3/4" wide x14 3/4" deep by 47" high and although i did not weigh them they are quite heavy.I recently sold a very nice pair of 84 Cornwalls that i liked very much to fund this project and these sound every bit as good as the Cornwalls and even better in some ways.These have great bass,imaging and a huge sound stage and they are very efficient as well.It was not easy to decide to sell the Cornwalls to fund this build but with what i have heard so far it was a very good decision.The bass on these may not measure as going lower than the Cornwalls but it sure sounds that way,very punchy without being excessive.The plans called for one big grill but i decided to include a center face panel and make 2 grills which has a better look to me.

Bolivar Sound Design Coupling

I had some vinyl clad Infinity QB boxes laying around and some Bolivar 8" mid woofers and Sound Design horn tweeters. I rebuilt the Infinity baffles with some ones that fit the other drivers, then built up a custom 3Khz network.

After putting everything together and doing some brief listening tests these actually sound pretty good. I need to re-align the driver on the baffles but aside from that these are great to listen to. The low end is tuned to 40 hz- which it hits with certain authority, and the upper scale is amazingly smooth for a dual horn design. Off axis listening is good as is depth and detail, ala in all a succesful design and loads of listening fun.

I still have yet to refit the grill covers and finish up some paint and patch.

edit: the "Bob's" mentioned below are the cherry jobs sitting on the stands. Cableguy was asking questions about them and when he found out they didn't have a name he said "call them Bob" and it stuck.

A pair of 3" fullrange drivers ripped from a Psyclone Nodus, along with its Tripath T-amp, to add some power to my MusicPal internet radio. Later found a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 without the satellite speakers, which these speakers are now hooked to, along with the MusicPal - way more bass.

The cabs are made from bamboo cutting boards and bar boards.

Those things were really popular. A couple of guys came in, sat down, and listened to a couple of songs. Then they asked if they could hear the pipes (dubbed the Sewer Lines by Ozmoid). He stated that they had been listening to them since they walked in. They thought they were listening to the marble towers (called the Initials).

Another guy listened, poked, prodded, took notes, and all manner of information gathering (including 27 8x10 glossy photographs with circles and arrows) and said he was going to build a set for his daughter who was going off to college and was going to power it with the little glass box Jolida tube amp. Cool.

I built them on the Tuesday before leaving for the show on Friday.

Dynaco A-35s

I built a new pair of cabinets for my A-25s based on Dave Dlugos' drawings of the A-35 cabinets. Changed the cap to 8uF. Cherry veneer on Baltic Birch plywood. Finished with a few coats of shellac followed by 3 coats of Rockler wipe-on poly.

I guess I'll show off my other project. Fonkens built from Planet10 drawings. FE127eN modified by Dave Dlugos. A lot more listenable than stock drivers.
