Hi there!
I have a Rega P3 with an Elys 2 cartridge. I've used the turntable for a couple hours daily for a few years, which makes me think the stylus may be wearing. (I have not taken it in to be examined.) I was considering possible cart upgrades but I actually have, in storage, an Empire 698 turntable with a Shure V15 Type II cart and barely-used Jico SAS stylus. I was wondering if it's possible, and likely a good idea, to ask my local shop to mount the Shure V15 Type II/Jico SAS on the Rega P3?
As additional background, the rest of my system is a McIntosh 2505 amp, C28 pre-amp, and, soon, a pair of 1980s vintage Klipsch La Scalas that I haven't even brought home yet. (The crossovers are being rebuilt.)
Thanks for any information!
