Simple PCB layout - headphone amp.

Im an electronics engineering technology student working on a thesis on amplifiers, in which i chose to include me constructing an amplifier and writing about that experience as a section of the report. Im not really looking to design the amplifier at this point, i just dont have enough knowledge yet, nor the time to finish it by the time i have to have all this done. It just seems the more i write, the more i realize i have to include and the body of the thesis is turning out to be much longer and time consuming than i had anticipated. I had hoped to be able to either design a simple headphone amp or find a schematic and make that one. I have found some simple schematics and i have eagle layout editor but i just dont have the time to learn the program right now, which seems to have a fairly steep initial learning curve. I found some predesigned layouts for eagle, but they are all at least double sided and many layers and i just dont really understand them at this point. I was hoping someone might be able to provide a simple single sided pcb layout for a headphone amplifier, that i can just print off on a single transparency and transfer it to the board. I do have everything i need to create and etch the board, except the layout, lol.
Anyways, sorry for the long post and thank you to anyone who might be able to help.

You can wire it up on a piece of perfboard with a socket for the IC. Probably you can get all the parts at Radio Shack.

Just use a simple 8-pin DIP IC and maybe ten outboard components. You'll need two output capacitors for a single-ended stereo amp. Many headphones these days are 30-ohm per section, rather than the traditional 8-ohms. This higher impedance will simplify the design.

thx for the ideas guys. Im thinking more along the lines of making a PCB rather than using perf board. Since im not ready to design one, id like to at least get the experience of making the board and constructing the circuit this time around.
