Sir.Byrd's 2226H based super speaker project

I like the idea of making the top/side and bottom/side of the enclosures as 2 instead of 4 pieces and using quarter round corners. Wrapping the corners with continuos "kerf-bent" (Sir Byrd) panels will be stronger than sh!t. 2 joints instead of 6. 5/16" mdf is pretty easy to kerf-bend over a 4" radius and laminate. Especially if you have access to vacuum bag pressing equipment along with the CNC machines.

Keep it up. I need inspiration as I have a project in the works but I keep getting stalled by one thing or another.
 
Looks like a very ambitious project at hand here! I just got done with one my self and am very pleased with my results. Your componenets are somewhat siliar to what I used. You are going to really like that larger QSC waveguide I bet I opted for the Radian 750P driver and could not be happier with the blend and the smooth sound- your B&C driver should perform as well I would think. Lastly- those beautiful JBL 15" woofers should really take this design over the top! I used the "Z" 19 xover scheme in mine- worked superbly! Having the dual level control for the top end is a real plus for me.

I wish you great results. There is just NOTHING like a well built, large driver, two way design! My 19's spoileed me for that sound about a year ago and I never recovered from it!! Fact is I even buit on to it with my new K-9's!

Agreed.I've done it with both 2225H and 2235H, but I've blown on about them before, way earlier in the E'wave thread. The original work was E'wave #4

Okay, just had the final design session, we are going to use the 4" MDF corners and build the sides out of 3/4" MDF and then laminate something probably 1/4" over it that looks nice. Then we will do a shelf brace inside between the waveguide and the woofer.
I estimated the weight today and we are looking at 130 pounds each.
 
Mine ended up weighing in better than 160 lbs! I put 2" HD carpet casters on all four corners- damn glad I did too!!

Just thought the person that vacuums/ sweeps would appreciate some mobility on these! Makes it easy on the floors as well. For $5 each it is cheap insurance for the floor and back. Your call not mine!

I believe we are going to make custom dollies for these that thread into the threads for the spikes for when/if we need to move them.

Interesting project, what is the internal volume?
