Sitting between speakers for a listening session?

I don't get it. They have what looks to be a nice setup there. Surely they just moved that chair and table in there for the picture?

If you were listening in that chair, the speakers are pointed away from you. I'd turn them in so it would be like a big pair of headphones.

Hahaha! Now I'm pictureing a setup like that, with large cones that go from the speaker down to a point that fits into your ears!

Maybe he upgraded from Bose and didn't like the direct sound.
Or maybe he took the picture from his listening position and seats his wife in the chair so he can gaze lovingly at her while listening to the tunes.

When I was a kid of about 12 or 13 years old I had a cheap, blue, plastic, RCA record player with these blue plastic cube shaped speakers about 6 or 8 inches square. I used to lay in bed and put one speaker on each side of my pillow and Golden Earing, Moontan album used to sound pretty damn fine like that. ;) So did Beach Boys , Endless Summer. I had eclectic tastes back then too.

I've had a chair between my speakers previously. Very practical for me.

Myself, I could not tolerate that sofa in front of the left speaker.

I did the same thing just a little bit differently.

Hopefully those pictures are just for product advertising and the interior designer has not a clue about stereo speaker placement .

Or the listening chair is at the camera position. Thus the room serves as both listening room and living room when company comes to visit. Practical for people who might, for instance, have visitors for coffee or tea.
