Smoking, Solder Melting Diodes

You could just take the screw out and pull the transistor back a bit to test the theory. It won’t kill it to get a bit hot for a moment.

The transistor may already be bad since it’s been connect as short.

Success! The 32v and 12v test points were spot on and there was no smoke from the double-diodes, bridge rectifier, or caps.

Thanks again for all of the help. I am waiting on an insulator pack that should arrive in my mailbox on Sunday and then I'll test it under some load.
