with test cd sony, that x33es player was coplety far out of factory settings. After two pots adjust player start to work more better, focus and gain was to other side. Last think is change relay.
Makes a great transport. The "bold AND detailed" sound signature comes through the standalone dac, even through the optical interface. It's a companion to an SCD-XA5400ES in my main system.Wow! This must be a very collectible model!
I checked ebay: The least expensive Sony CDP-X33ES listed is USD $185 + shipping. It is "for parts or repair only," and the seller states "there are several leaked electrolytic capacitors which have corroded the PC board." It might be a big job to get this one working again.
CDP-X33ES units "restored" or in "working condition" are being sold for USD $300 to $400.
I have questions:
What makes this CDP-X33ES model so valuable?
There several different models in the Sony CDP-XnnnES family of CD players.
Which are considered to be the "best sounding" by forum members?
