In North America they turn up frequently. Looking at sold units on ebay there have been two recently: $400usd for one without a case and $500usd for one with a case. They looked to be in very nice cosmetic condition and fully functional.

The TA-2000 is the previous model, a few less features and smaller meters.

I have several pieces of that TA-xxxxF series and was watching the prices for a while, seems that the (crazy) asking prices on ebay are much higher than what they actually bring.

Not sure what their value is in Indonesia however.

There was an auction two years ago which was all audio gear from one individual. Quite a few of those pre-amps were there but none for sale individually. Multiple unit lots only. One lot included three of them plus one corresponding power amp. I could not afford to bid on lots like that and neither would I want that many pre-amps. It was a local retailer who got that particular lot and I learned the price paid was $775 plus auction feeds. Some had cases one did not.

Two weeks or so later in that retailer's store I noticed one of the pre-amps (TA2000 - no "F") which was the one without a case with an asking price of $450. One with a case (not sure if TA2000 or TA2000F) was on the shelf at $800.

I bought the cheaper one and not long after saw the exact same model with no case in a pawn shop for $300. Supposedly in good working order.

There were two on BT recently, an F and a non-F, both took a while to sell. Very nice preamp for its time.

I have offer of USD180 here in mint and original condition, also working well, what's your opinion?

I would say that is a very good price if you're buying, but where it comes from could affect taxes and shipping and therefore your landed cost.

I'd jump on it, that price seems great.

I don't have one, have been kind of watching for one, if I found one working with good cosmetics for that it'd be in my collection.

Currently I have:
(1) TA-1130
(1) TA-3120A
(3) TA-3200F
(1) TA-4300F

I'd love to find a TA-2000F to replace the 1130 in my vintage Sony tri-amp setup! There is another piece that would make it a quad-amp, ...

how I love your TA-3200F , pair match with TA-2000F

Add the 4300F and all three 3200F work with the 2000F. I also have the manual, and the 4300F is recommended to be used with all of these pieces, but the 2000F can be used in place of the preamp of the TA-1130 (or its predecessor the TA-1120).

Originally procured to tri-amp a JBL 4333.

Unfortunately I've never restored them, they occupy a shelf in a closet, somewhat of a shame I'm sure in the eyes of Sony aficionados.

Now what is shipping from Indiana to Indonesia for one of those amps?

The TA-3200F is not hard to recap. The main caps are screw connections and high quality. The others watch the value in the unit there is a misprint in the SM but only in one place where the caps are noted.

I think I have the original SM, would have to look, but all three of mine could use restoration. They just haven't been on my short list, something else always comes first and now it's summer again, ...

I should probably take them all over to BT and let someone else enjoy, but I have that hoarder gene.

There is more than one version of the TA-3200F amp. 500,000 and 800,000 serial numbers have different guts, IIRC. I told a friend to buy the stack when it was here cheap. After cleaning the tuner and recapping the amp and preamp, restoring the tt and knowing he had the cassette deck, too, I should have bought that set, it was cheap. But I had been there, having had a TA-2000 as my first preamp.

I had a TA-2000F about 6 or 7 years ago, and stupidly sold it. I’ve been regretting it ever since. I paid $250 for it and sold it for the same.
