Nice to meet you President, I think I'm well on my way to joining this cult. Recently picked up a PS-2000 that is blowing my socks off, and I'm really liking the look of the PS-2250 as a potential addition.

I understand you have a PS-2000 which is the combination of the groundbreaking TTS-3000 + PUA-237 tonearm. (TTS is the code for the turntable drive, "
turn
table
system", while PS or PSE denotes a complete "
player
system", including tonearm and plinth.)
The 2250, direct drive (turntable itself is the TTS-2500), is a very fine turntable, in its time the turntable was only inferior to the TTS-4000 which uses the same motor and a similar (but not identical) circuitry. The TTS-4000, incidentally, was the first japanese direct drive turntable in production, predating the Technics SP-10 in a few months. 1970.
If you're located in USA (i'm not) you will have it easier to find the PS-2251, which is the TTS-2500 mounted on a high quality floating frame. Which I own too. I understand this was primarily a USA version and it operates at 120V AC.
If you get a different model (PS-2500, PS-2250), i'd suggest planning to build a new, denser, heavier plinth, for the Sony plinths are not up to the quality level of the turntable.
