I did not adjust my meters, one of them sticks anyways at just under the 1W marker.

Would love to know if you try it, though!

I tried it, and it was pretty painless. The right meter needed a bit of an adjust. Both of my meters stick just past 1W, and it looks as if some grease or perhaps glue melted on the coil preventing smooth rotation. I'm not sure it's even worth it to try surgery that delicate.

Just picked up a TA F6B

Saw this for cheap so I grabbed it, looked like a nice amp so I couldn't resist. Looking forward to getting it tuned up, so far it just needs dial lights, also the meters are a little sicky.

A quick update...I finished recapping the power and PLP supplies. With 120VAC I get 164VDC into the PLPS and adjusted to 99VDC out. Next up, the amp board.

On the off chance you are still subscribed to this, did you get 164vdc across the two wires that going into the plps? Or between each wire and ground? I'm debugging an occasional loss of power on mine. I see ~325v across the two wires. It seems too much of a coincidence that it is double.
