Sony TC-377 Mains Suppression Capacitor

Hi All,

The mains suppression capacitor on the Sony TC-377 I have just acquired is burned looking, I assume it has failed. I need to replace it. Could someone let me know of a suitable substitute?

Arc snubber from Newark Supply or any electronic parts supplier should do it. It’s an RC network in a little plastic box, though truthfully any kind of snubber should work just fine. This one is similar to what Sony used. Check the voltage ratings but generally they just use 250v rated snubbers nowadays.
