Sony TC-K679ES Belt Replacement

I've started slowly and carefully disassembling my TC-K679ES deck, only after watching Youtube repair videos multiple times. I've run into my first obstacle, the extensive use of cheap retaining washers. I know I can pry the things off; however, I'm concerned that if I mangle the things too much they'll be useless and I'll have to find some replacements, maybe e-clips - if I can find the right size.

FWIW, I bought this deck new, maybe from HiFi Buys in Nashville, TN (they're still in business!), but I have lost the sales receipt so don't know when I bought it or how much I paid. As I recall, I got this deck to replace a Pioneer CT-F950, back when metal tapes were all the rage. Wish I had the F950 back!

Dang! I meant to pose the questions: Any way to get these washers off without totally destroying them? What replacements you you suggest; e.g., e-clips?
 
I use a small thin blade to get under it and rotate it off. Check aliexpress sellers have bags of random sized. Search Cassette Deck Clip Fasteners.

You can check Harbor Freight. They sell a small container with retaining washers of different sizes. McMaster Carr also has a selection to choose from (no affiliation).

Thanks for all the replies! I pried off the washers and they don't look too bad, may be reusable. I'll keep the washer sources in my back pocket should I need them. This tape deck repair is sort of akin to a dog chasing a car - don't know what I'll do with it once it's caught - but it's a challenge and satisfaction if it works. Unfortunately, I trashed all my recorded tapes, and even some good Maxell blanks, just a few years ago.
 
I bought an assortment of small circlips from Amazon for a modest price. Peace of mind when a clip flies into the ether.
