Local flipper. Not completely honest. I've learned the hard way. I'm still hoping he takes the high road on a deal we did, but if he chooses not to, every audio forum including this one will get the entire story and know the truth of things.

I always assume the best in people and I'm so rarely burned (this is actually the first time ever), that it's still worth it to me to believe in humanity.

Take your own chances here folks.:thumbsdn:

You're going to bait us like that, and leave us hanging?:pity:

Actually, I'm baiting him to pony up the funds he owes me (or performs the work he promised was done to begin with). He hasn't returned my emails and phone calls for almost a month. He was very nice to me before the deal.

He moves too much stuff around the Twin Cities to want to be 'outed' here and other forums. I'll show him this thread and hopefully he "cowboys up" with his promises to me. I'm embedded deep enough in the TC audio community that I would assume he'd prefer me as an ally.
:boxing:

I was actually very surprised and saddened that he's put me on permanent-ignore, as I thought we hit it off pretty well. My follow-up emails and communications have all been very polite and I've been giving him the benefit of the doubt. At some point I need to rethink my own high-road strategy. :sigh:

Oh, that's too bad Rick. Hopefully anyone looking at these will be aware now! I listened to one of these setups today and was scouring for info when I came across that ad. I like the VFETs and the set I heard did sound good. The price for the local set was too much though---they are asking $600 for the amp and $400 for the pre, with a bit of wiggle room, but not too much. Local is good, but that was too steep for me today.

Steve.
