ByrdWyngs, are you using your Vandersteen's with this gear? if so, or not, how do they sound?

I am, with somewhat mixed results so far. They do a lot of things right and I do like them but I don't love them the way I was expecting to. See the thread I just started in the speaker forum http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=37949 .

I’m looking for the Sony Deck TC-209SD Service Manual. I have a problem with the Auto Stop Circuit. The Parts List would be very helpful if the Schematic or Service Manual is not available.

As if they were looking for one another, the TA-5650 and ST-J75 both arrived on the same truck today. One from Saskatoon and the other from TX. Like long-lost lovers reunited. I hope they sound that way, as they will be paired with the EPI-120s that Merrylander has restored and will go up with the TV in place of the STR-V7 (Sorry, -V7. A man's gotta have his VFETs). But, the listening will tell. Won't get started until tomorrow to allow time for things to thermally stabilize. Are really a couple of very clean units. Nerry a mar on them, to speak of.

I think you will really like the ST-J75 tuner. IMHO, it's a real sleeper of a tuner that performs well and sounds superb. Len Feldman (anyone remember him?) tested one for Audio magazine long ago and proclaimed it his new "reference" tuner (at least until he found another "reference" a few months later, I'm sure).

Yes. Like them so much I now own four. Definitely the sleeper of tunas. :yes: I will be having one recapped and new filters installed some time next year. Terrific sound and sell for well under $100. Even got an original service manual with one of them. Office Depot was kind enough to rip it up for me when I dropped off to be copied a few months ago. :thumbsdn: But, definitely a terrific sounding tuner if you are a listener and not a DX'er.

Then between us we own seven ST-J75's. That's how much I like it. Bought my three for an average price of $24 each.

The price has gone up a bit after the positive mentions of this one on the TIC site. If they do a shootout and it does well the price will really jump for about a year or so, but I listen to two and keep one for parts.
