Soundcraftsmen RA7502 Project

After you posted on that other thread, it took me a minute to remember this one. This almost seems like yesterday now that I read it. lol
What ever happened with the project?
 
I have shelved it temporarily until I have time to learn how to use my oscilloscope, etc. My job is really demanding and I have to take time for myself or I just don't get it. I really want to get that unit cooking as its in very good cosmetic shape. I am learning on pre-amps and equalizers, as it appears I bit off more than I could chew on this one for right now.
 
I see. Makes sense. I started on vintage receivers. Mostly the power amp sections. The first one saw several burned transistors / resistors and stinky smoke. It had a super-sensitive bias pot and I popped a few output transistors and drivers, in addition to the already faulty ones that were replaced. I eventually got it all up and running good, but I was close to never working on this stuff again. I already had a background in automotive electronics and an oscilloscope, so it wasn't as steep of a learning curve as what it would be if I started there.

What kind of pre's and EQs are you messing with?
 
I've recapped a PE2217-R, SP4002, two DX4200 with a third waiting, RP2215-R, several S860s and two PM860s. Repaired several power supply boards on Shoe Box amps, had the driver board on two S860 with fried transistors, but these were relatively simple repairs. I have a lot of time and effort on the RA7502 and I realized my knowledge base was the primary issue, I am gaining more all the time and my interest remains strong, so it's just a matter of time. Stand by, you will be a necessary participant in the near future.
 
That's an impressive list. All Soundcraftsmen too! I'm working on a DX4200 now too. I got it from a friend and he already recapped it and replaced the opamps. I painted the sides, covers, handles, and lots of chips around the face edge. Also removing every slider and disassemble and clean. Then re-grease and reassemble. Should be really nice when done.
