Source of 2285B parts :)

So when I bought my 2285B, I didn't know it was such a rare beast. I got it done but I had a poor condition balance pot and a volume pot that had a bent shaft. Both are unique to the 2285B and the balance pot has a detent click in the middle. What I found after a significant amount of digging and a lucky find on the auction site was that the volume pot and tone board of the 2265B and the 2285B are identical. The was a: finding one being parted out and b: the seller was willing to check part numbers for me before I bought it.
Here are the pics showing the two pieces with P/Ns
I also took apart the bent shaft to see just how these were made. Its pretty much what I thought and while not easily fixed, I think someone determined enough could frankenstein a few broken ones to one good one if they had to. An item of note is something I kick up now then about. I'm not a fan of soaking pots with DeOxit till it runs out "clean". They have grease in these pots for a reason and removing it without putting something back will just grind the tracks down all the faster. I have a picture of what I'm using today to refurbish pots. DeOxit to clean tracks, then electronic cleaner to flush out the DeOxit ( why in a min) and any loose gunk then I use a pot lube from Craig which is now FaderLube. When it's time to replace my can, I will get this
DeoxIT® Fader, #F100L-L25C (Needle Dispenser) for more precision application ( use the same needle version for DeOxit when I'm on controls like this). If the pots were easier to take apart, I would consider using the grease form vs the liquid
