I'm new to AK and am in Burbank. I'd be interested in attending. I'm all 1980-82 vintage Pioneer/Technics electronics and Fried G/2 speakers 3-way. Everything way too heavy to transport and the gear I've been reading about here sounds interesting for me to listen to since I'm pretty much focused on old vinyl I bought in the '60s to '80s. I have a lot of cds but only listen to them when someone asks or I just want to hear something I've not played on vinyl in awhile. Nothing to sell, buy or trade. I don't stream. Got a 1960 Sony RtoR and did upgrade my cartridge recently from a V15 Type III to an Ortofon Bronze 2M, and did some upgrades to my Frieds by having them wired in series instead of parallel when I had to have the mids and woofers rebuilt and 1 Hiqufon tweeter replaced by playing the new at the time MoFi release of "In A Gadda Da Vida" at max, actual max, level and exploded all the wiring. Exploded is the right word. So I'm happily stuck in that time zone. I am buying more vinyl now but again all old stuff recently remastered. I used to be the Eastern U.S. rep for Nady Systems Wireless Transmitters working directly on stage with most of the touring acts of the late 70's and early '80s. I can tell some interesting stories about that era; some just cannot be told. Has a date been set for January? In Tustin still? Or did I miss something? Like the whole thing?
Cox wanted to replace the cable box Saturday and the clown dropped the transmitter for the projector down to the floor inside the entertainment console. 
So we had to take the cabinet apart to fish it out and I figured I would clean up some wires and would spray the pots on the Crown and readjust the +-15 volts that had drifted and he would come back today to help reassemble the cabinet. The Crown is a PSA-2XH and powers my JBL W15GTi subwoofer.
So I fire up the amp, and yes, it goes into protection. I remove the top and spray/turn the pots and turn it on to reset the 15 volts. Of course, this is when the power switch/relay sub-assembly, that had previously been acting up, decided to give up the ghost and it would not turn back on.
Luckily, there is a gent near me that fixes vintage stereo equipment (Ex Marantz Service Center Owner) and is handling it. He fixed my Marantz 1180DC integrated and two Marantz 170DC power amps. But it won't be done until at least the middle of January, not that I had really been using it anyway. This powers one of my two subs and is not used listening to 2-channel. Meanwile, the cabinet remains open.

Either date works. Sorry to hear about the repair bill: not clear whether you think that the issue was related to the cable service call?
I had to open the entertainment center to retrieve the projector transmitter when the cable guy dropped it down to the floor into the cabinet. That gave the opportunity to remove the Crown to reset the +-15 volts that had drifted making the amp go into protection mode.
In place in the cabinet it powered up and went into protection mode. I pulled it out, removed the top, and put the test leads inplace to adjust the voltage. I've done this a couple times before.
When I went to turn it on to adjust the voltage, it would no longer turn on. Just totally dead. It had done this requiring it be re-toggled a couple times before so I knew something in the power supply was going wonky. Ed ended up replacing 10 components (resistors and diodes) and reflowing the solder joints.

I haven't heard of any since the bigger one pre-Covid, though a couple of us tried to organize something. I'm not in OC all that often now but would still be interested in another meet up, if we can arrange it.
