Southern California AK 2022 / 2023 Meet-up Info & RSVP

I'm down for it after June. I run the railroad for the public either June 15th or 22nd so pretty tied up until then. and there is the audio show June 7-9. BTW, you guys are all invited to come and watch the trains run.

If you enter from the lower garage level (second level down) it puts you right at the back door to the ballrooms, and you can just walk in. There was nobody there all day. The only reason I used my ticket was because I wanted a program, otherwise..., not so much. No one checks wrist bands and the elevators are set to allow access to the upper floors (2&3) where most of the exhibitors are located in the rooms/suites.

The garage under the hotel is open for "event" parking and you get a ticket when you enter. But the gate was up and there was nobody there to take $$$ when I left at 4:00 PM, so it was gratis.

Just saw this post and realized I couldn’t be there earlier than 3:30-4:00pm. Oh well.
I’d be interested in the SoCal Meet up if it’s still going to happen. I could bring a pair of Boston Acoustics Lynnfield Series 400L speakers. These are considered Boston’s swan song speakers.
I also have a pair of Infinity Infinitesimal 0.2 that I could bring.

Todd and Linda Brody invite you, your family, and your guests to the 2024 running of the T&LB Garden Railroad. This marks our 28th year of operations. The railroad was the winner of the Garden Railways Magazine 2013 competition for garden railways and has been featured in numerous publications and videos. The landscape covers about 1,200 square feet with about 600 feet of track and six bridges, including a 14-foot long trestle. Using simple track power, the railroad can run itself fully automated with up to seven trains that slow and/or wait for each other as necessary to avoid collisions at crossing points. Additionally, the railroad incorporates a high degree of automation and special effects into the multitude of vignettes in its landscape.Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Dudes! Made a few changes to the crossovers on the Mermans, put on Herbie Hancock and you would swear that the trumpet and sax are playing right there in the room! I've never heard a speaker sound so true and textured.

We gotta do this!
 
I picked up a Behringer DEQ 2496 UltraCurve today. The gent actually brought it out to the house. He is a sound engineer up in Lake Arrowhead who is cleaning out his unused stuff. I actually already have one in my home entertainment center that I use for the RTA.

The DEQ 2496 offers up a pink noise source, sound level meter, and 61-band RTA (in addition to a whole slew of other features) that should be useful if we ever get to doing speaker comparisons.

Why do those speakers sound different? Now you can see the reason visually in real time.

Real good. Got a second rescue dog last July and the two girls keep me busy (lost ~20 pounds). If I'm not listening/tweaking the stereo, I'm out walking the dogs and as you guys know..., it's all hills! While Dani (Taiwan Mountain Dog on left), has no problem with visitors, Paya (Aussie Cattle/Velcro Dog) really doesn't take well to other people (ankle biter).

Paya sounds a lot like my pound puppy, a Heinze 57 mix. She takes after the stubby tail Australian Cattle dog the most, definitely an ankle biter.

Paya's DNA shows ~3/4 Aussie Cattle Dog, 3/32 Husky, 3/32 Malamute, 1/32 German Shepard, and 1/32 Rottweiler.
Dani's shows ~7/8 Formosan (Taiwan) Mountain Dog, and 1/8 American Pit Bull Terrier.

What do you do about the ankle biting?
