I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess they are some kind of Altecs from the 60's. Got any other pictures, or can you get some more? See if the covers are removable and take a pic of the drivers.

Not Altec although they are mimicing them. They look like Japanese speakers perhaps Panasonic, Technics or ?

First Impression: They look like the type of speakers that came with inexpensive Japanese shelf stereo systems in the late 1960's and early 1970s from brands like Lloyds. There is most likely a cheap cone tweeter behind that plastic horn/dispersion faceplate. These were in the days before boombox all in one systems became available.

These speakers were typically lo-fi, but when you were spending under $ 100 for a complete little stereo system what could you expect?

Corrected Perception: Oops, I didn't look close enough to see how large these things are! Crikey! They are anything but a shelf speaker! (lol) It would be interesting to know what kind of drivers are lurking inside those interesting looking cabinets.

First off, thanks for the help.
