Speaker ID please

Going for cheap locally but no logos or labels. I'm hoping someone recognizes the pattern of the cutouts in the baffle board behind the grill cloth.

Those look much older than 21. I doubt any clerk is going to ask for ID when they're buying beer. :naughty:

Looks like a hexagon of 3" or 4" drivers with a seventh in the center. I have never seen such an arrangement in all my born days.

The cabinet and grille look like ca. 1970 give or take. Reminds me of the Utah HSC-1 cabinet but there were scores of small regional producers back then, and store brands made by other manufacturers, so who knows.

I doubt they are going to knock your socks off sound-wise, but you should get them anyway so you can tell us what the heck is inside them!

I don't recognize them, but if they're local and cheap I'd make the drive to at least check them out.

bs

The receiver in the picture seems like it's a good piece, which might suggest that the speakers are also. I get a Sansui vibe from the reciever vents, but the fascia seems more Radio Shack, but on the higher end.

I would wager that there is a single driver behind a grill frame that was just honeycombed. Holes are too close for individual drivers to be mounted so close to each other. The cabinet looks to be good enough that I'd waste forty for a pair of "lottery speakers"

Me, too. And I agree - likely a single driver behind those cutouts.
