Speaker stand for JBL L100

No problem Ron, there you go:

Top board: 345 X 300 X 24 mm.
Bottom plate: 398 X 300 X 46 mm.
Pillar: 148 X 148 mm with the angle achieved by a 204 mm back and a 1 cm taller, 214 mm front.

I think it's MDF or maybe even HDF. it's awfully heavy.

Those are a very nice design. I have never seen them listed as OEM stands, but I can't say it's impossible. I'd consider making them from walnut solids and adding a small raised edge on the back so the speakers don't slide backwards from bass vibration. Maybe build the pillars as square boxes (butt joints), then cut the angles. Kreg screws and Titebond on every joint. Put spikes under the bases for use on carpeting, or rubber feet for solid flooring. Maybe fill the pillars with sand or lead.

Yes, I was definitely going to add a raised edge on the back, I'm surprised the originals don't have something like that considering the weight of these Jbl's.
 
This is an old thread, so this information is late for the author, but maybe someone else will benefit from it.
I have a pair of the "JBL look alike" wood stands. The size I have is ideal for my JBL L150 speakers. The speakers are 40" tall, with the mid range and tweeter at the top. Placing them at about head level while sitting on the sofa in front of them. I will attach photos.
I have a pair of JBL L110's that I just moved into the same room. This addition improved the sound a lot. It 'fills' the room with music, no matter where you are in the room. So, I started looking on eBay for a pair of stands for the L110's that would look better in our living room than plastic crates do. I found someone selling fabricated metal stands that are designed for the 4310 and others in that series, which are also a perfect fit for my L110's. The speakers will be 8" off the ground in the front and tilt upwards at 8 degrees. This model is called the Model A. They have a model J I think that is made to fit the L100 and other models, like the AR3A, the large Advent, and some of the KLH speakers like the 5, 6 or 7. They are nice looking, sturdy stands but you pay about $350 for them, depending on the model.
Once I have them, and have refinished my L110 speakers, I will post photos and how to reach that company.

I may have gone a little lower budget than most although, with the price of the Pliney, maybe not.
My real question is what are users opinions of the 2 styles of grilles?
The frames and top grille is from Huntley Audio and are really nicely done. I think the top one is a little classier but really, my favorite is the classic on the bottom.
Opinions?
Please don’t tell me to modernize and get “real” speakers, it’s a garage! I have standing waves so big in here that I have to serve them a beer

I struggled with whether to spend $260 for the quadrex foam from Scott / Sculptured Foam Innovations or the ~$80 cloth insert from Huntly, finally chose the quadrex foam.

The L100 is a good speaker, but for the money they bring they're really more of a collector piece than a speaker so I chose the collector / classic foam.

Very nice, just bought a pair that arrived yesterday. I will be making a pair just like yours :). Did you stain the cabinets?

Well, I did spend a few hours today (Flex day off) making the stands and must say I am really happy at how they turned out. Here is where I departed from the original design:
1. I used Oak instead of Walnut (used a Walnut stain though)
2. I did not round off the the wood cross-brace ends (wife likes them squared off and besides I don't really have a tool to properly round them off just yet)
3. Made the back support slightly higher
4. Cross members are not quite flush (may have to cut a little bit deeper notches to get them even - if the speakers sit on them sturdy I probably won't bother
4. Made the JBL Label slightly bigger using a craft wood burning iron
5. I did not router the tops of the front and back wood pieces (may yet do that but is not really visible when speakers are on the stand anyway.
Attached are some photos at different stages. Stain is drying right now and I plan on putting a coat of varnish overtop to protect. Once fully complete I will post more photos....

I know this was posted many moons ago, but was wondering if you could share dimensions of these.
 
Not complaining about the nice stands in this thread, but frankly, the speakers don't give a damn about the artsy bit. The one thing that's important, IMHO, is the 5 degree tilt of the top. The height of the stands may vary too. It's really about what's good for you at your favorite sweet spot.
