Yikes! If those two car "subs" are wired in parallel, that's gonna be some low impedance load.
Yeah, if those were mine, I would have got some original woofers from the 'Bay and refoamed them.
Those Kenwood LS P9200s (in their original form) look a lot like the speakers that I have mentioned several times in various threads as being the reason I no longer assume I know what will sound bad. I found them in a dumpster and was curious enough to blow a few bucks in Mat Electronic generic foam surrounds to get them up and running. I was surprised at how good they sounded, and when I heard them in the modest system I provided a friend, I was really stunned. Marvin Gaye sounded real - full sized and in the room.
I suspect the 'modifications' made to them have not improved them, though it does seem some effort was taken - an added port, which might be because the original was a passive radiator system, whereas the new drivers look like active ones and might need some pressure relief.
