Speakers You Do NOT See Everyday!!!

I love the concept, and they probably sound quite nice. I'm pretty sure those are from well before DAK took over.

They're from ~1979. This was an early attempt by BIC at omnidirectional speakers.

The driver stack looks like the top of the NOMAD probe!

Ok, you had to go and point that out. Now I want a pair just to rename them "Nomad speakers".:D

Here's how they work: When you play something they probe it and erase the data and if they don't like what you select you hear: "Non-sequitor, your facts are uncoordinated" instead of music. They also have a tendency to adjust your system to go beyond it's abilities causing undo stress on the rest of your components. If they notice something not perfect they will "sterilize" it.

:lmao:

You'd need a pair of HPM 150s, too - TARDIS speakers. :D

ET, when he went home forgot them but he'll be back one day and I wouldn't want to be the one who has got em!....lolol:)

Neat speaker design but you think they would have made the woofer more pleasant to look at, but I suppose there are grills that cover them.
Still if it can be seen it should look good.

I have a pair. They are not the best sounding or the worst sounding speakers I have heard. I found it nice when hooked up in my finished basement. I put them in the middle I could go to any room and still hear the same sound. I am going to be bringing them to the next KC AK fest if you would like to hear them.

Yes they are an Unusual design and I have a set of them. They don`t sound at all bad and in the correct setting and placement can be fairly good. They would probably be better with a recap but I haven`t gotten around to it yet. There were actually three different ones made. I believe them to be TPR200 (which I have) ,TPR400 and TPR600. Also know as Soundspan.
