Any suggestions for a good 8 ohm speaker ? Currently using 2230 2238 and 4240 about 500 to 600 bucks.Would like a kit but most seem to be 4 ohm.

What are you looking for, new or vintage? I am a vintage man myself, and I love my JBL 4311's. Those go for around $300 on eBay, and are easy to find parts for. The L100 is same drivers, diff cabinet. About the same price. That's about all I know in that price range, as that is out of my league, and I got a stellar deal on mine.....(Goodwill).

I'm using a pair of recapped & refurbished KLH 17 speakers with my Marantz 2230 receiver.
KLH made the model 17's....and the as good or better model 6's.... by the boat load.
You can find them on the cheap on e-bay, Craig's list, flea markets, yard sales, Goodwill........

Kits are a good idea. 8 ohms shouldn't be hard to find. Parts Express or Madisound speaker components are both reliable with a lot of choices.
5 or 6 hundred should get you something nice to go with those nice Marantzs you own.
