Specs for Advent Prodigy Tower Speakers

Hello.

I was given a pair of Advent Prodigy Tower speakers (pictures attached), and I would like to find out what the specs are (particularly impedance).

If anyone can provide more information about these speakers, I'd really appreciate it.

I have a pair of these although I don't know the specs. These make great mains for an HT set up which is how I use them.
 
No manual or anything, but Google reveals this on an older AK thread:. Pretty generic, of course, but I don't think they are difficult load.
Frequency Response: 45-23,000Hz +- 3dB
Efficiency: 89dB 1w @ 1m
Nominal Impedance: 8Ω nominal / 4Ω minimum
Cross-over frequency: 3kHz
Recommended Minimum Power amplifier rating: 10 watts minimum
 
I love my Prodigys. I got them for $25, the foams were still good. I'm driving them with a 20WPC Lepai T-amp connected to my computer. I think this combo sound great, just my opinion.
 
Here is what I was able to come up with, but I am not sure about the 75 watts RMS power handling spec. I just finished a pair of early Prodigy bookshelf speakers. They sound pretty good.

I believe that is a pic of the original Advent Prodigy. My best friend in HS had a pair. 10" woofer and deeper bass and more power handling than the later Prodigy Tower, but I can't recall the specifics.

I do remember they handled his Kenwood Basic M1 amp pretty well. And we ran them pretty hard, especially when he added the pair of Cerwin Vegas! We even DJed a couple of parties with our combined equipment! Not what they are designed for, but what do you expect from 17 year-olds? I do remember them being pretty well regarded at the time, tho.

The Advent Prodigy Tower is 6 ohm impedance.

I still have the pair that I bought new in 1990. Refoamed the woofers and recapped the crossovers last year.

Your picture looks like Advent Legacy, not the Prodigy. Prodigy's are narrower than the Legacy's.

The skinny ones are the Prodigy.....8" woof.

Wide ones pictured above are the Legacy.....10" woof.

Both reward the listener with smooth sound and deep bass if fed high current (watts not so relevant compared to current).

Although a bit lacking in mids......

Both are 6 ohm speakers.....like most accoustic suspension models

Anyone know why suspension speakers are usually 6 ohms??

The legacy is selectable between 6 and 8 ohm. I suspect the prodigy is the same.

I have both Legacy and Prodigy speakers. I see no way to select impedance. Please provide a reference for your statement.
