spin clean? Does it work?

I am almost tempted to purchase a second spin clean for a rinse only.

My cleaning regimen for used vinyl records is Spin Clean with fluid or Dawn> Ultrasonic Cleaner > Spin Clean with Distilled Water only.

I have bought separate brushes for the different baths.
1) I will do a batch of 40-60 records in the SC with the fluid or Dawn (20+/- per bath then renew bath).
2) Ultrasonic clean the records
3) Run through Spin Clean with Distilled Water only w/ different brushes
4) Dry

Was looking to purchase a spin clean. Does anyone here own one? How well does it work? I'm not an audiophile by any means but I don't want to ruin my TT playing dirty vinyl and don't want to screw up my records. some people clean by hand with iso and distilled water? I don't want to spend money on some outrageous record cleaning system. Spin clean seems pretty good bang for the buck? Any info would be great and any recomendations on how to clean also. Thanks!

Yes it works.
Yes it's good bang for the buck.
Just follow the instructions for cleaning.
Simple enough.

If you want cheap, and very effective, get thee a broken tt, where you can spin the record with your hand.

Buy the smallest shop vac they have at your local Wal-Mart.

Contact AK'er hi*ball and inquire on his new wand attachment.

For less than 60 bucks, you have something that will rival anything short of an Ultrasonic tank.

I have this very setup, and it is stupendous.

Love my spin clean and use it often. Have not found a draw back yet. You will surprised, I think, by what's left over after cleaning albums for the first time.

I'm constantly amazed at the amount of "stuff" found in the bottom of the tank after cleaning a record for the 2nd or 3rd time:banana:

I have the Spin Clean and a recently acquired an ultrasonic tank...

The Spin clean is great for "maintenance". Most records that are now 30+ years old have alot of crud that the spin clean won't remove.

The best investment is an ultrasonic tank. Once I started cleaning records in the ultrasonic tank, the improvement in imaging and dynamics was night and day...

I use the Spin Clean now for "maintenance" after the records have been through the US tank..

grime in the grooves also causes stylus wear. I won't drop a needle on a record unless it's had a cleaning through the US tank...

I've noticed that while spinning vinyl by hand in the SpinClean, my fingers will sometimes get blackened. Is that the dye in pvc coming off?? And my water always seems blackish, and I'm sure it isn't just dust.

Could it be the dye in the spongy brushes?

I use mine for dusty/light dirt or just a random touch-up when I'm bored.

Heavy cleaning done using the glue method followed by spinclean.

Distilled water rinse afterwards.

Very pleased with it.
