Anyone know any more about this? I want to say TAKE MY MONEY but I guess the real question is how much of their library is 16/44.1 or better? Will suddenly everything be available in minimum CD quality, or only selected tracks/albums? Will we be able to tell by looking at the interface on our phone or PC? ANSWERS MAN I WANT ANSWERS...

seriously this is pretty exciting, although it is also somewhat sad as it may mean that 95% of my CD collection just became redundant.

I just saw that article and am hopeful they will provide a real lossless service. I really like Qobuz, and it's app and interface have improved a lot, but Spotify just works with everything.

It doesn’t work with Roon or Audirvana, which is an issue for a lot of audiophiles. Currently, it isn’t integrated into Apple devices as well as Apple Music. What they have is Spotify Connect and a huge customer base to sell the service to. It will be interesting to see how many move to Spotify from Tidal or Qobuz or choose the lossless tier when they haven’t had an interest in the past.

I’m happy to hear this news. I’ve tried Tidal, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Qobuz, and Spotify. Oh, and Deezer too. I happen to like Spotify’s interface and curated playlists the best, so hopefully the hi-res service is reasonably priced.

@bberkom, it’s been a year or two since I’ve tried Qobuz, Should I give it another shot? I seem to recall their interface being quite clunky.

Qobuz, like many of the other services, caters more to cell phone users. If you use Windows operating system on a PC, I've found it to be very unreliable. And their customer service and technical assistance is pretty much non existent. So much so that I've cancelled my subscription twice. If Spotify can pull this off at $14.99 or less, they'll most likely stay at the top of all streaming services.

I'll sign up, if the price is at all reasonable. I like their Spotify's system and interface a great deal. I've been using Qobuz as well, but it just doesn't work as well as Spotify and I'm having a hard time keeping the subscription as it just isn't worth it, even in the rare cases where a track may sound a bit better (to my ears) on Qobuz.

Weird - I've had no problems with Qobuz via Volumio via my Raspberry Pi4 ...
Works well on my iPhone as well, but for hiRes I do Volumio.

Netflix needs to pair with Spotify and do a bundle or something. Call it NETUNES. If I can stream UHD video and Dolby Atmos without bandwidth problems then I should be able to stream Hi-Res music without any problems at all....

Yep, you should - what size is your pipe/bandwidth?
we're 100M on FIOS

I don't have any trouble with Qobuz, on my phone or on my raspberry pi's. If Qobuz would add DNLA to their app, I wouldn't even think about Spotify, but their connect feature is really nice.

I just wish they wouldn’t have announced it until it was pretty much already available.

I’ve tried other services but I keep coming back to Spotify. Mine and my wife’s accounts are bundled into a family plan. Kind of makes it silly to pay for a second service after that.

Looking forward to this and more details. I would love to have one service, doing Spotify Premium and Qobuz currently.

Why stream 192/24 content to a phone? What services do not?

Can't speak for Windows, but I've not had any difficulties using either Chrome or their MacOS client in the office system nor my primary use with a plugin to LMS.

I use Qobuz with Audirvana on the Mac and it allows for DLNA. I am also testing Roon right now (works with Airplay and Casting). In both cases, Qobuz works great without a glitch. I don't have their actual app on my computer, but I have used the iOS app with Casting and never had an issue.
