Found a sweet buy today, at one of the local thrift stores!! A nice pair of Polk Audio Monitor 7A speakers....only $20.00! Gonna try them out later tonight! Here is a picture I borrowed of of AK. Mine are as same as the picture , but have clear domes on the tweeters.

Polks are sweet speakers!! Baby daughter has my old pair of Monitor 10A's.
They have the clear (cloudy??) tweeters that yours have. They're the Peerless tweeters that many Polk lovers rave about..

w1ld ....Had to pass on a pair of ADS L1530's last summer....too big for my Focus ZX5 Hatchback....In Bellingham,WA + my Wife was along....
and $300 price tag @ the GW Thriftstore!

Picked up a pair of Sansui SP-3500 & Kenwood KR-5150 receiver at a local church rummage for $20 total. The Kenwood is in its original box & packing. The Sansui's are near perfect shape, the lattace grills are intack with no busted sections, common with these type speakers.

I went to a local Goodwill store yesterday and picked up a Nakamichi OMS-1A single disc cd player for $15.00 in great condition. I have never owned anything by Nakamichi, but felt for the money it was worth a gamble; it tested fine at the store. Anyone have any feedback or opinions on this unit?.

I've heard nothing but good things about Nak CD players. I have a thrift found Nak 202RX cassette that is awesome sounding.

Got a pair of the metal box Minimus 7 for 4.95 at a ts.I wired them in place of the satellites on a Logitech powered sub computer setup.Sounds decent, they are going in the pop up camper.

Walked into my local thrift just as they were about to close....i live next door !!!!

Spotted the receiver on the top in my pic below...Sansui 3900Z from 1981.

Got it for a couple of bucks....all working apart from the single dial lamp on the Left (that lights up the Sansui logo and the dial scale) and the memories die after power off......(i put two new AA batteries in)

Sounds very nice hru my Dynaco A25XL's.

I went back to the place where I got the 1530s and found some vinyl. After some quick sorting I was told all LPs are $10 each! We're talking stuff I might have paid .50 for. After reading through this thread I feel like I may have overpaid for the 1530s.

At another store I was in the process of buying an Arcam Alpha 9 integrated amp for $50 when the daughter of the owner came up and said, "I have to check the price on that first!" She looked up "Arcam" on eBay and told me "Arcams are going for $1200 dollars". I just smiled and left.

Scoured the GW yesterday after work and found several JBL speaker sets. One pair of G300 and one pair of unidentified JBL towers that had cat scratch fever. I picked up the 300's for a 7 dollar donation and passed on the towers. I am rebuilding the 300's crossovers now and hope they sound as good as they look.

How'd they turn out?

Bellingham to Lynnwood WA.....

Swung down below the 49th Parrallel this last week for a few days... with my wife. I managed to slip into a few Goodwills and VV's...while she was shopping! North of Seattle produced a pair of JBL J520M bookshelves $10.50,pair of mini Panasonic SB-AFC80'S $1.50, a nice pair of black Sanus cast iron based stands for $8.00, a mint $10.00 large working Vintage Heathkit 1080 Oscilloscop, and a Very Nice 9.5/10...
Mid 1970's- JVC JR-S201 Receiver ...40watts/ch $20.00
I was going to post a few pics,,,,but my new Casio Digital camera went for a "CRAP"!!
Will not focus.....back to Costco it goes...2 weeks old!

I was in a local MCC Thrift store the other day....They had a couple of boxes of new LP's and 45's that just arrived....All in "Wicked" shape....Looks like someone had slid each record down 50' of concrete sidewalk.... before putting them back into their sleve covers!!! Not Joking!!! Some still had dirt and mold in the grooves of the records.....LP's-$2.00 and 45's-$1.00 ....."Ouch"!! Should all be in the tipper!

I was at an estate sale a couple weeks ago and pulled about ten LP's out of the stack for $1 each. Once I found what I liked, I examined them for quality. Every one looked like the only time it spent in the jacket was before they opened it and just before the sale. They were absolutely trashed.

I suppose it was not all that uncommon back in the day for some people to just leave their albums laying around. Bummer though.

I put 'em all back. They were completely worthless.
