You could low-ball him and see what happens. With the lack of details on these speakers he might be fishing for a while if tries to get more than a hundred or two...

I was stalking those hoping nobody else would notice. Oh well...

By some of the pictures and descriptions on the web, it's the trick cabinets that made these speakers. The drivers looked fairly ordinary, and no mention of any brand names as far as the drivers.

So I went to look and listen today; met a really nice old chap.

Very nice cabinetry though the base looks to have sucked up some moisture. The cloth is very stained (again from moisture and possibly other stuff).

Foam is deteriorating on the one that I opened up and the sound suggests it has deteriorated even further on the other.

They would be difficult to find original parts for I imagine so they are either end-tables or the cabinetry is ready for new replacement innards.

I passed given the poor sound and the lack of available parts. They are sitting in a garage so the sooner they are purchased the better.

Yeah; I really wish I could afford them but that would involve the asking price, the repair price and the cost of buying a house with a room large enough to accommodate them
