Stereo Hi-Fi deck + active sub??

Hello everyone!

I have an Pioneer Hi-Fi deck, which consists of AZ-470 amp (I don't recall the tape deck/equalizer and fm/am reciever model names, not home at the moment).
The system outputs 70w rms per channel according to info in hifiengine (although it sounds more like 50w to me, but that is not the point)
So the system is nice, im using some kind of kenwood speakers which are rated for 70w, and they sound good. The only thing missing is some nice depp sub bass. frequency range of those kenwoods are 50-20k Hz.
I was wondering if it could be a good idea to add an extra active subwoofer. If yes - How powerful sub i would need, so it doesn't completely overpower mids and highs. P.S. - I, personally, prefer a little extra bass, because i'm mostly listening jungle music (those who know, will know).

an active subwoofer has a gain control so it will only over power the rest of the audio spectrum if you set to do so

for a budget subwoofer I highly recommend the Dayton Audio Sub 1200, two if your budget allows, I like using two connected in stereo, one right the other left, but one works just fine.

Thank you for recommendation, although daytona seems more USA based, i'm from Europe.


As for the inputs - most of active subs has hi-level inputs, and I also have high to low signal converter laying around somewhere.
